How Fugazii checks a post

When you share a reel or post to Fugazii, it does four things. The goal is an answer in under a minute.

1. Opens the post. The video, the caption, who posted it and when.
2. Watches and listens. A transcript of what's said, and what's shown or written on screen.
3. Checks sources. Each claim is compared with reliable sources: official data, research, established news and fact-checkers.
4. Writes it up. One verdict, a summary of at most two sentences, the claims and the sources.

What each result means

TRUE

The post's main claims are accurate.

FALSE

The post's main claims are wrong.

MISLEADING

Real facts presented to leave a wrong impression, missing key context, or a mix of true and false.

UNVERIFIED

Not enough reliable evidence either way yet.

NO CLAIMS FOUND

Nothing factual to check, such as a dance, a joke or an opinion.

Each claim in a post also gets its own label, so you can see which parts hold up. TRUE, FALSE and MISLEADING always list at least one source.

Was it made with AI?

It also checks whether a video or picture was made with AI. It says “Made with AI” only when the file's content credentials, a watermark or the creator says so. Anything less is a sign, not proof.

What Fugazii doesn't do

Fugazii doesn't rate opinions, jokes or satire, and doesn't give medical, legal or financial advice.

When Fugazii can't see a video

When Fugazii can't see a video from its link, it asks you to save the video and share the file instead. That doesn't use a check.

Mistakes and reports

Checked by AI, so it can be wrong. If a verdict looks wrong, tap No under “Was this right?”. A person reviews every report.

Privacy in short

No account. Your history stays on your phone. The links and files you share, and what Fugazii reads from them, go to Fugazii's server (which uses Cloudflare's AI to turn speech into text) and to Claude, an AI made by Anthropic. Files are deleted when the check ends. Results for public posts are reused for others for up to a day.
